SolidWorks tutorials – quickie question & answer -how do I…
User Question: “I use the 3D sketch tool to create 2 joined triangles. One is on the top plane, another one is on the front plane (two triangles share a line). I want to convert them into 2 triangle surfaces. How can I do that?”
Rosanna’s answer: “Well, you could split the shared line using the split entities tool (Tools->Sketch Tools->Split Entities). Then create 2 new sketches, use the Convert Entities tool, and basically make a copy of the geometry. On the Surface tab, use the Filled Surface tool.”
